UR Power is operated by Family Action Network (FAN), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Detroit, Michigan. Our mission is to empower individuals and families by connecting them with community resources, programs, and support.

When you create an account and use UR Power, we may collect the following information:

• Name, email address, phone number, and zip code
• Date of birth and household size
• Income, housing status, employment, and education level
• Insurance status and current benefits
• Emergency contact information
• Assessment scores (pathway, financial stage, household stability)
• Engagement activity on the platform

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, specific medical diagnoses, or biometric data. Your sensitive financial and medical details stay with you.

Why We Collect It

We collect your information to match you with programs you may qualify for, such as SNAP, Medicaid, Section 8, and other community resources. This data helps us track your pathway progress and connect you with the right support at the right time.

How We Use Your Data

• Program eligibility matching and personalized recommendations
• Tracking your progress along the UR Power pathway
• Aggregate community reporting using anonymized data
• Engagement tracking to improve the platform experience

Who Sees Your Data

Only you and authorized FAN staff can see your personal data. We never sell your data to anyone. Aggregate, anonymized reports may be shared with partner agencies and funders to demonstrate community impact, but these reports never include personally identifiable information.

How We Protect Your Data

Your data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data. Platform access is restricted to authorized FAN staff with role-based permissions.

Your Rights

You can view, update, or delete your data at any time through your UR Power dashboard. You can also delete your entire account from your Profile page. If you need assistance with data deletion, contact us at info@familyaction.network.

Children's Data

UR Power requires users to be 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that data promptly.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication only. These cookies keep you logged in and secure your session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your personal information. Assessment data may be retained in anonymized form for community reporting purposes.

We will notify you of material changes to this privacy policy through the platform or via email. Continued use of UR Power after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
